Family Matter

While Medill senior Todd Johnson is entertaining the crowd of DM dancers, his father and sister are hanging around Norris University Center in a show of family support for the four-time DM emcee.

"I'm just amazed," said father Randy Johnson, a first-time attendee of the philanthropy. "We're really proud of (emcees Adam Welton and Todd)."

On the third floor of Norris, Raina Johnson, Todd's sister, grabbed a couple of Daily Northwestern newspapers which showcased the duo. She and her boyfriend are visiting from Washington DC, where they are attending law school.

"Todd looks forward to (this) every year," she said.

The duo is a "natural pairing," Randy said. Johnson and Communication senior Welton have been friends since freshman year, are in the same fraternity and are currently roommates. This will be their last time hosting Dance Marathon.

"The crowd loves them... it comes across vividly. " Randy said. "I hope this isn't the end of their duo."
