A DM birthday (part 1)

The Daily's Spring Quarter campus editor, Medill sophomore Emily Glazer, is dancing in DM and spending all 24 hours of her 20th birthday on the dance floor. She'll weigh in occasionally via BlackBerry on the dancers' experience.

At about hour 12 the exhaustion begins to set in. While most of the dancers are queued up, eager for breakfast, there is still a sizable number of people who just want to sleep.

With feet up against the walls, bodies slumped against water fountains and others just plain passed out on the ground, some dancers need extra motivation to fight the desire to pass out. Bagels await, along with a 45-minute break and a performance. The future looks bright, and now that the sun is out we know we're just about halfway there.
