Bear Necessities founder thanks students

"He lost his battle when he was eight years old, but not before he really, really inspired all of us to start Bear Necessities to make a difference. And that's why people like you are so important, and you've made such a phenomenal difference by being here tonight, by caring, by choosing Bear Necessities. So many children's lives will be changed because of each one of you. Just standing here and seeing this is truly overwhelming. It means a lot to me personally to know that this many people would come together, to help me make Bear's dreams come true."

She encouraged the students to continue when they encounter pain by thinking of the children with pediatric cancer and the pain they go through.

"Just remember these kids, these smiling faces that are just like each and every one of you in the room and because of you and your work. So when it gets painful out there, just remember them and what they go through and know the pain that you're going through is making a huge difference. So, my heartfelt thanks, my love to you all. And for all the kids that are going to benefit, you guys go and have a great time."
